TEX 01 - Beginning/Intermediate Floor Loom Weaving

$225

with Lynn Pollard

Calendar Jan 7, 2020 at 6:30 pm, runs for 9 weeks

During our Winter session, weavers will explore color using at least 16 colors in the warp and again as many in the weft plus many others.  These will be woven in plain weave and twill or lace structures.  Beginning weavers will focus on basic skills—dressing the loom, color, simple structures, edge finishes—while weaving a scarf or table runner.  Advanced weavers may choose projects using colors, or a technique, or a size yarn that should push them a bit beyond their comfort level.  Beginning/Intermediate level students choose from yarns supplied by Callanwolde.  Advanced students will supply their own yarns.  Floor Loom Weaving classes are comprised of students of all weaving levels.

Instructors are Lynn Pollard and Christine Stanton.

About the Instructors:  Lynn Pollard, a longtime weaver and dyer, at first, learned her craft primarily through the guild system.  She furthered her textile knowledge through earning a degree in textile engineering from GA Tech and classes at various craft schools around the southeast.  She has exhibited widely and her work is held in public and private collections.  Instagram: lynnlpollard  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qJTKckf5tsk

Christine Stanton, textile Artist, designs and creates handwoven wearables.  Her weaving reflects her love of color & has been exhibited & sold nationally.  She has been teaching weaving for the past 15years.
