Teen Summer Studio

TSS 01- Teen Clay Intensive (Ages 13-16)

This intensive focuses on handbuilding and sculpting. Teens will get the opportunity to glaze and fire. 

TSS 09- Teen Drawing and Painting Intensive (Ages 13-16)

Calendar Jun 1, 2020 at 10 am, runs for 1 week

This intensive is for the artist looking to expand their current skillset. Instructors will vary and offer new curriculum spreading across architecture, still life, figure drawing and more while using mediums including but not limited to watercolor, acrylic, charcoal, graphite, pastel and more. An excellent opportunity for artistic teens looking to start or grow a portfolio! All supplies included. 

 

Christopher Hall is an artist and writer living in Atlanta, Georgia. He earned his BFA from the University of Georgia and his MFA from the Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia. He is currently a part-time assistant professor of art at Kennesaw State University and a contributing writer for Burnaway.org.

This intensive is for the artist looking to expand their current skillset. Instructors will vary and offer new curriculum spreading across architecture, still life, figure drawing and more while using mediums including but not limited to watercolor, acrylic, charcoal, graphite, pastel and more. An excellent opportunity for artistic teens looking to start or grow a portfolio! All supplies included. 

 

Erin Palovick is a multimedia artist based in Atlanta, where she also teaches drawing and painting to all ages. She loves to encourage her students to practice seeing just as much as they practice making art. She received her BFA in Drawing + Painting from Georgia State University in 2010, and has since expanded her studio practice to include sound, performance and installation. She has exhibited work nationally and internationally, including shows at the High Museum of Art and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Georgia. She was a Walthall Fellow in 2015 and a resident at The Hambidge Center in 2019. Palovick is the Co-Founder and Artistic Director of fLoromancy, an online arts and culture publication started in 2016. 

TSS 17- Teen Digital Photography Intensive (Ages 13-16)

$300

Calendar Jun 8, 2020 at 10 am, runs for 1 week

In this intensive, students examine the essential tools, materials, and techniques for the fundamentals of digital photography, including cameras, lenses, exposure, resolution, storage, memory, and presentation. They learn to apply basic principles of photographic composition to assess the positive and negative attributes of photographs and then learn to apply those principles to produce their own visually compelling images.  Adobe Lightroom Classic CC is a program that approximates the darkroom experience. Students will need their own DSLR (Digital SLR) camera and laptop. All other supplies included.
